Several members spoke about family members and their involvement in the war, from forestry work to firewatching, from munitions to sewing parachutes. A very interesting morning.
A good attendance to hear from Ben Beck about Quakerism via a zoom link which was a bit temperamental at times, but we got there, thanks to IT whizz Shirley stepping in! The information came thick and fast but luckily, Ben has promised to send a list of links to various Quaker sites. It will appear on the Links page as soon as I have it.
A special event was held in the Town Hall for all the grant applicants to receive their grant cheques. Jenny, Sheila and others attended the event.
A research, training and copying session was held in the Town Hall studio.
22 people heard David Lewis speak about the Battle of Selby, making it an entertaining morning for all! We hope it won't be too long before he visits us again.
