The Fun Day was a great success, plenty of people came by to see who we are and what we do, lured by the jigsaws and books, CDs and DVDs, etc. We were also judged to be the best decorated stall!!! This was in large part due to Sheila, (thank you) who had gathered news about Selby in 1974 which was displayed at the front of our booth. KCOM and the Town Council gave the group a prize! Thanks also to the members who came along to sit behind the table and have conversations with the visitors, much appreciated.

This morning's meeting was a very interesting talk by Brian Luckins, about his uncle and his life in uniforms of one sort or another. Very interesting, thanks Brian!

A small number gathered to exchange news, research tips and and ask questions.

I haven't heard any news of  a great disaster while meeting by zoom, so I assume it went well.

A few members joined to continue research and discuss recent findings.

A small number met to listen to Jenny explain about Dr. Todd and his life in and around Selby. This interesting talk led on to a general discussion about Selby in the past, and the locations of doctor's surgeries, dentists and other locations, using Google maps street view as a visual aid!

An event was held for our group to receive our grant cheque and showcase the work we do in the Selby District. We set up a table and spoke to several visitors about our work. At a short meeting in the main Town Hall we were presented with our cheque from Selby Town Council. many thanks to Sheila for giving up her time to set up the table and talk to so many people.

A research meeting with about a dozen members, discussing recent finds and copying slides onto SD cards. Preparations were being made for tomorrow's grant award meeting. The library is still being catalogued.

This morning, our guest speaker Jackie Depelle told us the stories of three girls who lived in Leeds and had interesting lives, discovered due to Jackie's ability to find resources and use them effectively to find the facts. Resources were available to inspect afterwards and hand outs were in abundance! Once again, a Jackie masterclass!

Due to the fine weather, a bit quiet this morning, with no new visitors and few members. A start was made on listing the cupboard contents, prior to refreshing the list on the website. News and dates were exchanged.

A good meeting, watching a DVD brought in by Pat, about the Wakefield Press group of newspapers in the 1950's. An interesting insight to the way of life all those years ago. We also looked at some pictures from Byram Hall, now sadly absent from the landscape. Brian's presentation and Jenny's information saved for another time!

A few members met to discuss progress, ask our experts or seek technical advice. A useful morning.
